Contralateral Routing of Signals (CROS)
CROS hearing aids are used to treat Single Sided Deafness (SSD) condition. CROS hearing aids pick up sound from poorer ear side and transmit to better ear side. Most CROS hearing aids are now wireless and are either behind the ear or custom made. The goal of CROS hearing aids is to give binaural advantage to patient when true binaural hearing is not possible.
BiCROS hearing aid can be used when better ear has some degree of hearing loss.
